Mo Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 25, 2026 Last updated: September 25, 2026 · Version 2026-09-24c Status: Beta version. This policy is under review by our privacy counsel and will be updated when that review is complete. We will tell you when it changes.
The short version
- Mo is yours. Your information lives in its own encrypted database, locked with its own key, separate from every other person who uses Mo.
- We don't sell your information. We don't show ads. We don't use your conversations to train AI models.
- Nothing from a recording is remembered until you review it. Mo asks whether everyone agreed to be recorded, shows you what it heard, and saves only what you approve.
- Mo remembers where things came from. Each saved memory keeps its source (which conversation, recording, or document, and when), so you can see why Mo knows something.
- Changes keep a history. When you correct something, the old version is kept in your history instead of being silently overwritten. You can remove things Mo remembers.
- Your health data is never used for advertising and never sold.
- You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, at any time.
Mo is in beta. Some of the controls described below are still rolling out. Where a control isn't in the app yet, email us and we will do it for you.
1. Who we are
Mo is a personal assistant operated by Friendzis LLC ("we," "us").
Contact: [email protected] · 105 Market Place, Suite 5, Glassboro, NJ 08028
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers the Mo iPhone app, the Mo web chat at chat.getmymo.app, and Mo's text messaging service (together, "Mo").
3. Information we collect
3.1 Information you give us
- Account information: your name, the name you'd like Mo to call you, phone number, and email address.
- Your conversations with Mo: the messages you send and Mo's replies, in the app, on the web, or by text message.
- Recordings and transcripts you share: conversation transcripts you choose to send to Mo (for example, from a recording device), and the claims Mo extracts from them for your review.
- Documents, photos, and files you share: for example, a PDF you send Mo to read. Mo reads the contents to answer you. When you send a photo, Mo sends it to our AI provider to understand it and keeps only a short written description; the photo itself is not stored.
- Things you log or ask Mo to track: food, water, exercise, health conditions, medications, allergies, tasks, reminders, notes, contacts, and anything else you ask Mo to keep.
- Imports you choose to make: for example, an export of your history from another AI assistant, or a call and text history file you download from your phone carrier. Coming soon.
3.2 Information from your devices and connected services (only with your permission)
- Apple Health: if you allow it, activity data such as steps, distance, active energy, and flights climbed, and, when enabled, sleep. You control this in the iPhone Settings app.
- Email: if you connect your email account (during the beta, we set this up with you), Mo reads each new message's sender, subject, and opening lines to sort your mail and tell you what needs attention, and opens a full message only when you ask it to. Files attached to emails are not read or stored. For relationship features, Mo uses sender, recipient, and date information for people you have linked. Coming soon.
- Calendar: if you connect a calendar, Mo reads your events to remind you and answer questions.
- Contacts: if you link a person in Mo to a contact on your phone, Mo reads that contact's phone number, email, and address from your phone when it needs them. Mo does not copy your whole address book. Coming soon.
- Device information: your device's time zone (so reminders arrive at the right local time), and a notification token so we can send you notifications.
- Location: off unless you turn it on. When it's on, Mo keeps only your most recent location (not a history) to answer questions like nearby places and local weather. Turning location off deletes the stored location.
3.3 Information collected automatically
- Technical records: timestamps, message delivery status, error logs, app version, and similar records we need to run Mo, keep it secure, and fix problems.
- We do not use third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking tools in the Mo iPhone app, the web chat, or on our servers.
3.4 Information about other people
Your conversations, recordings, contacts, and notes may include information about other people. We handle it as part of your account, with the same protections. Please share information about others only when you have the right to do so. When you send Mo a recording, Mo asks whether everyone on it agreed to be recorded and reviewed before anything is extracted from it.
4. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide Mo: answer your questions, remember what you've approved, send reminders and briefings, track the areas of your life you care about, and carry out tasks you ask for.
- Keep you safe: see Section 7.
- Keep Mo secure and working: detect abuse, prevent fraud, troubleshoot, and fix errors.
- Support you: respond when you contact us.
- Meet legal obligations.
We do not:
- Sell your personal information, or share it for advertising.
- Show you ads, or use your conversations to target ads anywhere.
- Use your content to train AI models, ours or anyone else's.
- Use your health data for advertising, marketing, or data mining.
5. Memory: how Mo remembers, and how you stay in control
- Nothing unreviewed is saved from a recording. A recording is held, unused, until you answer the consent question and review what Mo heard. You can keep, correct, or drop each item, or drop the whole recording.
- Memories are attributed. Mo stores "Sam said the meeting moved to Tuesday," not "the meeting moved to Tuesday," so you always know what came from whom.
- Every saved memory keeps its source and the date it came from.
- Corrections keep a history. A corrected item keeps its earlier version in your history. Mo uses the current version.
- You can remove memories. A removed memory stops being used and can be restored for six months before it is erased. Coming soon.
- Older items move to an archive after two years. Mo doesn't use archived items unless you ask, or unless it can't find something you asked about in your current information. Information that is still current, like an active medication, doesn't get archived. Coming soon.
6. How AI is used
Mo uses a third-party AI model to understand your messages and write replies. Today that is Claude, provided by Anthropic, through Anthropic's commercial service. To answer you, Mo sends the AI model the parts of your information that are relevant to your message, such as your message, recent conversation, and related memories.
Under the terms we use with our AI provider, your content may not be used to train its models. Anthropic automatically deletes what we send it within 30 days, except where it must keep something longer to comply with the law or to enforce its usage policy (content its automated safety systems flag may be kept for up to two years). Anthropic stores data in the United States and may process it in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
We may use additional AI providers in the future, including models we run ourselves. Any provider we use must meet the same commitments, and we will update this policy before we do.
7. Safety features
Mo includes automated safety checks that look for signs that someone may be in crisis or at risk of serious harm. Coming soon.
When a check detects a possible serious risk, it sends a short alert to the Mo operator and to our clinical reviewer. The alert says only which account it concerns, the kind of concern, and how confident the check is. It never includes the content of your messages. At most one alert is sent per account every four hours. No one else is contacted. To run the check, the text of your message is processed by our AI provider (Section 6).
These checks are automated and can make mistakes. Mo is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, call your local emergency number.
8. How we share information
We share information only in these ways:
- Service providers who help us run Mo, under contracts that limit their use of your information to providing services to us:
- Anthropic (the AI model; see Section 6)
- Telnyx (text messaging)
- Apple (app notifications and app distribution) and your web browser's push service (web notifications)
- Cloudflare (the secure network connection to our servers, and sending emails from Mo, such as confirmation links)
- Google Maps Platform and Open-Meteo, only if you use location or weather features (your location or the place you ask about)
- Microsoft, your email provider, and Salesforce only if you connect an account with them
- USDA FoodData Central (the text of a food you look up, never your identity)
- When you direct us to: for example, if you turn on a shared conversation with another person, the messages in that shared conversation are visible to its members.
- For legal reasons: to comply with law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Mo.
- In an emergency involving danger of death or serious physical injury, where the law allows.
- In a business transfer: if Mo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer under this policy's protections. We will notify you.
We never sell your information.
9. Shared conversations and other people's Mo
Some features let you add Mo to a conversation with other people. These features are off unless you and the other members turn them on. In a shared conversation:
- Only the messages in that conversation are shared.
- Mo never shares your private information in a shared conversation, and other people's assistants never see your private information.
- What someone else says in a shared conversation is kept in your account as something that person said, and you can review and remove it.
- Only you can give instructions to your Mo.
10. Health information
Mo can help you track health-related information, like activity from Apple Health, meals, medications, conditions, and allergies. We treat this as sensitive information:
- We use it only to provide the features you use.
- We never use it for advertising or marketing, never sell it, and never share it except with the service providers who help us provide Mo.
- Mo stores health values exactly as you give them, and may ask you to confirm that older information (like a medication) is still current before relying on it.
- You can stop Apple Health access at any time in the iPhone Settings app.
Mo is not a medical provider and does not give medical advice. Talk to a professional about medical decisions.
11. How long we keep information
- Your account information and content are kept while your account is active, so Mo can remember what you've approved.
- When you delete something Mo remembers, it stops being used right away. Coming soon.
- When you delete your account, within 30 days we delete your database, its encryption key, and our backup copies of them, and we replace our encrypted offline copy of encryption keys with one that no longer includes yours. Our encrypted offline backup drive also keeps older snapshots until they are overwritten as the drive fills; we never restore a deleted account from them.
- We may keep limited records longer where the law requires, or to resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or enforce our terms.
12. How we protect information
- Separate, encrypted storage: each person's information lives in its own encrypted database with its own key.
- Encryption in transit between your device and our servers.
- A tamper-evident history of changes to your memories.
- Limited access: The Mo operator can technically access the systems that store user information. Opening anyone's content requires a documented reason tied to a support request or a bug report, and is recorded in an access log. You can ask us for your log at [email protected]. Coming soon.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.
13. Your choices and rights
You can:
- See what Mo has saved about you, and ask for a copy of your information in a portable format.
- Correct information that's wrong.
- Delete specific information, or your whole account.
- Withdraw permissions (Apple Health, contacts, location, email, calendar) at any time.
- Stop text messages by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help.
To exercise any of these, use the controls in the app where available, or email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, such as the right to know what we collect, to opt out of certain processing, to appeal a decision about your request, or to complain to a data protection authority.
14. Children
Mo is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child is using Mo, contact us and we will delete the account.
Information you choose to share with Mo about your own children, such as schedules, is kept as part of your account with the same protections.
15. Where information is stored
Mo's servers are in the United States. If you use Mo from outside the United States, your information is transferred to and processed in the United States.
16. Text messaging
If you use Mo by text message: message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply; reply STOP to stop and HELP for help. We do not share your mobile number with anyone for marketing.
17. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as Mo changes. If we make a material change, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
